Divorce

In the unhappy circumstance that your marriage has broken down, our family team can provide you with constructive and sensible advice about divorce and separation.  We offer a free initial meeting to new clients to the family department, when we will discuss with you your circumstances and fully explain to you the options that are available so that you can decide in your own time how you wish to proceed.

If you decide you want to proceed with a divorce, we can advise you as to the most appropriate basis for a divorce petition.  We can manage the divorce for you from start to finish and will keep you fully informed about the progress of your divorce. The divorce suit brings about the end of the marriage. For most married couples there are many other issues that also need to be considered. These can include the financial issues such as dealing with the matrimonial home, joint bank accounts, endowment policies and pensions. Where there are children it can also include resolving the arrangements for children. We are able to offer advice and information specific to your individual needs.

If you are the Respondent in divorce proceedings (where your spouse has commenced the proceedings) we can explain to you the options available and help ensure that your rights and interests are represented to the court through the divorce proceedings. If you are the Respondent you will also need advice and guidance as to the ancillary issues such as the arrangements for children and finances.

Please contact us to make an appointment or to take advantage of our free initial meeting for new clients.
